For the Fourth of July this year we went to Twin Oaks Park for a picnic and fireworks. It totally felt small town to me, but in a really good way. The people were friendly, the music was great, the food was good and the fireworks were fantastic! It was a little "Stars Hollowish" if any of you have seen Gilmore Girls, and we loved it! We went with our new next-door-neighbors and Caleb had so much fun.
Here's Caleb, our neighbor Cameron, and her cousin Gabby.
Caleb dancing with three girls? Oh yeah! This kid will be a heart breaker! The band was awesome! They played a whole bunch of big-band stuff and a lot of other stuff with a good beat. We got rained on for part of the time, so we all just danced under the pavilion until it stopped!
David went early and set up our blankets right in front. The view was great!
Here's David rocking out to one of the songs the band was playing.
We all loved the fireworks with the exception of Jakey. He was absolutely terrified and I spent some time standing in the back with him trying to calm him down. He was so exhausted that he fell asleep in my arms and I got to watch the show. Caleb spent the whole show, and for about 20 minutes before, with his fingers in his ears. He hates how loud it is, but copes the only way he knows how. He had a good time though and can't wait to go again next year. Thanks Twin Oaks, and we'll see you next year!

That sounds like a lot of fun. I'm glad you got a picture of some fireworks. We didn't go to any show (new baby of course) so thanks for sharing yours!

I am so glad you guys are already such good friends with your new neighbors! We love the 4h, it's one of our favorites!

Looks like Caleb will have lots of good 4th of July memories just like we did! How did you get that cool picture of the fireworks?
