7 Years and counting...

To the love of my life, you are wonderful in every way. I am the luckiest girl alive to be your wife. You are my reason for everything and I cannot imagine life without you. I am a better person because of you. You inspire me, love me and help me improve in every way. I love you forever, and then some. Happy anniversary!

Top 10 Guilty Pleasures

So here you go Carly and Michelle. My 10 guilty pleasure are:

craigslist
#1. I could surf craigslist all day long. I love the feeling of finding something I've always wanted and paying nothing for it! Oh the sweet rewards!

#2. I could live in my sweat pants if my ego would let me. They are the first thing that I put on when I get home from church on Sunday. I still wear a pair that I bought for girls camp when I was 13.

#3. Teen Fiction! I love spending the afternoon reading a book with a great plot and interesting characters while at the same time, not having to think too hard to be entertained. Suzanne Collins, Sharon Creech, Rebecca Stead, I could go on and on. If you have a good suggestion, send it my way.

#4. Rescue 9-1-1. My heart aches for you! But since you are no longer on, I will have to settle for Trauma, Life in the E.R. or Emergency Level 1. I am completely addicted to these! My adrenaline starts pumping and I can't contain myself. I am there, in the e.r. and saving lives!
#5. My pillow. Enough said.

#6. Pedicures. There is just something about getting my toes tickled that makes me feel so feminine. There is nothing better than sitting in a massage chair while someone pampers me. I just wish they wouldn't talk behind my back in Vietnamese.

#7. Art Supplies. I cannot resist them. I have about a million paintbrushes, art pads, and markers, but for some reason, I feel I always need more.

#8. Jane Austen Movies and spin offs. My mom recently showed me one called Lost in Austen. It's a gem!

#9. American Idol. I have seen every episode except season 1. What can I say. I like to watch people make fools of themselves on national television. I don't know how I feel about Ellen DeGeneres but Simon and I are tight.

#10. Listening to Opera at full volume when I am all alone in my car. And singing along with it.
I tag anyone who reads this blog. I want to hear your top ten guilty pleasures!

This Christmas season started out with a bang. Literally. We went downtown to Light Up St. Louis and watched the fireworks. Obviously Caleb was disgusted with the show. Sheesh! After that, we followed Santa over to Macy's department store where the kids got a book. We also went to see Santa and Jake surprised us all by sitting on his lap voluntarily. He just knew that that was the only way Santa would know to bring him a tractor for Christmas.

Our ward Christmas party was amazing! Thank you so much to the wonderful activities committee for planning it. It was fun, spiritual, and totally different. We celebrated the story in the bible of Queen Esther's feast. I helped make the Shallah bread while others helped with traditional Jewish cookies and a Moroccan chicken that was really tasty.

After dinner we took turns as families and went on a "Walk with Christ" around the church. Each auxiliary was in charge of decorating a room like a stage in Christ's life. We Young Women were assigned the Garden of Gethsemane. I thought the whole thing was amazing and I was truly touched. I wish I had pictures of every room so you all could all see how cool it was.

Post Thanksgiving post

I know I know! Everyone is posting Christmas, but I just had to do one short one for Thanksgiving first. We had a fun day with lots of good food and friends. We were bummed Jamie and Scott weren't able to make it, but we had a lot of fun with our friends the Williams. I really enjoyed setting the table and making it look pretty. I just noticed that I have no pics of people or food. I guess we were just too busy eating to take any! Oh well, plenty of that coming in my Christmas post. Happy belated Gobble Day!
